To clarify inevitable (nearly always) Unix jargon that comes up.
- Directory: folder
- Execute: run, launch
- Process: task (usually small)
- Thread: process
- CPU, hardware processor.
- Console: terminal, command-line screen.
- Prompt: characters that appear before blinking cursor: a good sign you are logged in
